The activity involves
A pleasant walk through the mining village of Magurka with an opportunity to hike the main ridge of the Low Tatras. At each stop during the tour, the local guide will provide you with interesting facts about:
- the mining below the main ridge of the Low Tatras,
- protected species of plants and animals from in this area,
- the need to protect nature and its inhabitants,
- the life and traditions of the locals in this region,
- the local herbs and their role in folk medicine,
- the surrounding mountains and their impact on the development of the region.
You will be accompanied by local guide Zuzana Kaliská.
The length and type of the tour can be adjusted to the physical abilities of the participants. The average route distance is less than 10 kilometres, and the duration of the tour varies from 4 to 6 hours, with an elevation gain of approximately 600 metres.

The activity involves
During the tour, you will take a hiking trail in Low Tatras National Park (Národný park Nízke Tatry). When packing up for your trip, don’t forget to consider the everchanging weather at the mountains. Luck favours the prepared!
Make sure to bring along:
- comfortable hiking shoes and hiking clothes,
- waterproof hiking shoes and a light waterproof jacket or a raincoat, depending on the weather conditions,
- a small backpack that fits a snack and a bottle of water,
- plenty of energy and high spirits!
We kindly ask all visitors to show good conduct and follow the rules of the national park.
