Magurka Chalet (1,500 meters) is located directly in the Low Tatras National Park, right below the main ridge of the Low Tatras to the north, near Ďurková and Zámostská hoľa.
Magurka Chalet is situated in the former mining settlement of Magurka in the district of the municipality of Partizánska Ľupča.
Main access to the chalet is via Liptovská Lúžná or Partizánská Ľupča to the Tajch crossroads, from where you will find signposts guiding you straight to the Magurka Chalet. The chalet is accessible by an asphalt road.
Hikers can access the chalet by bus to Liptovská Lužná, from where you can walk to the saddle of Prievalec and then continue along the green trail that leads from Salatín to Železné and to Magurka. This trail takes approximately an hour to complete.
If you opt to access the chalet from the main ridge of the Low Tatras:
- from Latiborská hoľa along the blue trail (70 minutes)
- from Zámotská hoľa along the yellow trail (60 minutes)
- from the saddle of Ďurková via Metská hora along the green trail (90 minutes)
- from Salatín (120 minutes)
